Cedar Creek Treehouse
Amenities

Your adventure begins with a "stroll down the boardwalk"-- an 80-foot long suspension foot bridge through a rainforest of cedars, sword ferns, and evergreens. As you advance you notice the sound of rushing water--a creek is nearby! As you break into the sunshine and gaze slowly upward your eyes are met by a towering, five-story stairwell--your access to Cedar Creek Treehouse.

The treehouse, designed and constructed in 1982 by owner Bill Compher, has received national attention over the years:

"Everyone who has seen it agrees the two-level, 16 by 16 foot structure is spectacular--seemingly floating 50 feet in the air on a giant cedar tree in a heavily forested area near Mount Rainier."
--The Seattle Times, February, 1987

"It excites the imagination!" --The Los Angeles Times

"....Nice view!" -- Philadelphia Inquirer

Cedar Creek Treehouse has been featured on the cover of Fine Homebuilding Magazine (Taunton Press), June/July 1998 issue.

The Treehouse features a sleeping loft with two double beds and personal skylights, a bathroom kitchen and dining area, an observation room, and of course, incredible views in every direction!

A wide mountain vista -- including views of Osborne Mountain and the Sawtooth Ridge Peaks -- is visible from the treehouse. High Rock Lookout is just an eight mile drive and hike away on U.S. Forest Road 84. The treehouse also features plenty of windows and skylights, tongue and groove cedar siding, a sweeping view of the creek below, and breath-taking southern and western sky vistas.

Swimming and trout fishing are literally in your front yard, as is a garden to enjoy. The fourth floor of the stairwell is a glass-enclosed observation area, with lots of possibilities: stargazing, cloudwatching, bird-watching, music studio, or just swinging in a hammock and enjoying a book. And all of this in quiet, arboreal solitude! That's what really makes a Cedar Creek Treehouse retreat so special. It's more than a unique lodging experience--it's a mini-vacation all by itself!

Cedar Creek Treehouse can accommodate up to five people, with additional space on the stairwell observation floor, and numerous camping spots below. Treehouse facilities include 12-volt electric lights, water, gas stove, icebox and sink in the kitchen, toilet and wash basin in the bathroom.

Cedar Creek Treehouse is available for small group retreats, special events (picnics, anniversaries, honeymoons, celebrations), and weddings. (Say your "I Do's" in the Tree and then experience the ultimate lovenest!) The owner is a musician, so musical events such as concerts, festivals, and workshops are always welcome. Call and ask for Bill to discuss your plans. We are happy to work with you and assist in any way we can to make your event a pleasurable and memorable experience!
